JOB TITLE: Inside Sales Representative (hybrid/remote)
DEPARTMENT: Sales Operations
REPORTS TO: EVP of Global Sales & Strategy
LOCATION: Branford, CT
The company prefers a local candidate that is available to be in the office occasionally, but they will consider a remote opportunity for a qualified candidate. The Sales Representative is the first point of contact for potential new clients. The Sales Representative has an important role in representing PeriShip and building a relationship of trust with our customers. Key to being successful in this role is the ability to have a focused attention to prospecting new contracts and using PeriShip’s suite of tools to engage those contacts. The Sales Representative will sell and reinforce the PeriShip competitive value proposition in every interaction with shippers, recipients, and partners.
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required of the Sales Representative:
  • Manage lead flow to ensure timely contact with new potential clients
  • Manage sales pipeline, forecast monthly sales and identify new business opportunities
  • Achieve assigned sales KPI and Lead Qualifications
  • Excellent sales skills with the ability to overcome customer objections and present a clear value to the customer on PeriShip’s solution
  • Build trusted customer relationships to ensure excellent service
  • Utilize CRM to ensure activities are documented properly, opportunities are forecasted accurately and adequate information regarding the prospect and/or opportunity is communicated
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including weekends and evenings
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two to four years of prior sales experience, B2B high volume phone sales preferred
  • Familiarity with packaging requirements for perishable and consumable products
  • Supply chain & logistics sales experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other MS applications as required
  • Prior experience using a CRM platform for sales, marketing, or account management; experience with Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizations skills
  • Excellent active listening skills, with a strong service mentality
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • The Sales Representative should be charismatic, have high energy, a sense of service, responsibility and a willingness to learn and train on a dynamic business model

JOB TITLE: Sales Assistant (Onsite or hybrid)
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: EVP of Global Sales & Strategy
LOCATION: Branford, CT
The company prefers a local candidate that is available to come into the office daily, but they will consider a hybrid opportunity for a qualified candidate. As a member of the Sales/Operations team, the Sales Assistant role has responsibility for guiding key business initiatives, supporting communications efforts, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. With customer experience driving every decision and action, this role is vital to ensuring a holistic perspective is applied to each project and initiative. The candidate must be able to manage complex schedules; perform planning, logistics and operational work; and serve as the communications hub for members of PeriShip’s sales and operations team.
  • Early engagement and interaction with prospective clients
  • Sales support for new customer engagement
  • Create and manage internal project management program, and ensure successful completion of activities for designated projects
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships between all stakeholders
  • Create, edit, and maintain SOP’s, including for prospects
  • Assist in the preparation of key customer deliverables, such as reporting, and other required documentation
  • Creating and designing slide decks for reporting purposes, training materials, and more
  • Coordinate meetings, document, and follow up outcomes of meetings
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the customer onboarding processes, including meeting notes, organizational structure, and identification of key individuals
  • Maintain Salesforce database
  • Performs other duties as required
  • Bachelor’s degree required; demonstrated experience in all aspects of the role in lieu of a degree is acceptable
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience successfully managing cross-functional projects
  • Expert level proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Outlook calendar management
  • Prior experience working with Salesforce strongly preferred: experience with project management software is very helpful as well
  • Some supply chain or logistics experience is preferred
  • Broad, cross-functional stakeholder collaboration and support
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical and organizational skills
  • Works well with co-workers, customers, and vendors. Ability to assimilate into a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
